Directions to Start and Finish Location
Directions to the Rodeo Beach Start and Finish
From San Francisco: Take Golden Gate Bridge going North on Highway 101. Take the first exit across the bridge toward Sausalito.
From East Bay: Take Richmond Bridge and Highway 101 South. Take the last exit before the Golden Gate Bridge.
From North: Take Highway 101 South. Take the last exit before the Golden Gate Bridge.
Once you exit the freeway, have a choice from two routes to the start/finish area:
To Rodeo Beach via the Tunnel
After coming off Highway 101 and following the signs going down the hill toward Sausalito on the East side of the freeway, take a left turn toward Rodeo Beach on Bunker Road. This left turn is only a quarter mile from where you got off the freeway. You will see a tunnel with traffic lights. Go through the one lane tunnel. Keep following the road down the hill toward the Rodeo Beach Lagoon. Follow the road around the lagoon. There will be Parking Attendants at the fork in the road on the North side of the Lagoon to direct you to the closest parking lot.
To Rodeo Beach over the hill
After coming off Highway 101 take the road going up to the vista points on the West side of the freeway. Follow the road further uphill past the vista points. At the
roundabout take the first exit which leads you down the hill to a T-intersection with Bunker Road. Turn left on Bunker Road toward the Rodeo Beach Lagoon. Follow the road around the lagoon. There will be Parking Attendants at the fork in the road on the North side of the Lagoon to direct you to the closest parking lot.
Running the Race
Numbers must be worn on the front and be visible and they cannot be folded. Age group bibs must be worn on the back.
If you drop out of the race, let a race official or aid station captain know or we will be looking for you at the end of the day.
Aid stations will have water, soda, Clif bar drinks and products, and other food items such as bananas, cantaloupe, PB&J, pretzels, and M&M's. Clif gels will be available at Cardiac and Stinson (no gels at other aid stations due to permit restrictions).
Cup-free. This year's race will be cup-free. Runners will need to use their water bottles or hydration packs to drink from at aid stations or they can carry their own collapsible cup or other drinking device.
Runners do NOT have the right of way at road crossings or on the trail. Be careful at road crossings; pay attention to course monitors and park officials. Be courteous and respectful of hikers, bikers, and horses on the trail. Be quiet and cautious going past horse stable area in Tennessee Valley; we have strict permit use restrictions for that area.
The official course is on the trails and runners will be disqualified for cutting switchbacks.
The finishing time cutoff is 10 hours (5:30 PM). See the Course information for aid station cutoff times.
