Marin County's most famous trails - Coastal, Miwok, Steep Ravine and Dipsea - provide a spectacular setting for this classic, single-loop race. Founded in 1998, this event has the full backing of Marin's largest running club. Only minutes from downtown San Francisco, the Tamalpa Headlands 50K is a demanding ultra-marathon with over 7,300 feet of elevation change. Although the Start/Finish location has moved over the years, the course itself has not been changed in the 20 years of its existence, and the listing of fastest times on the course is made up of many legends in our ultrarunning sport.
